Richard M. Daley is the former Mayor of the city of Chicago, Illinois; he was the longest serving Chicago mayor, in appointment from 1989 thru 2011. In May 2011, the University of Chicago announced Daley's appointment as a senior fellow at the Harris School of Public Policy and in June 2011 international law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP announced that Daley would be Of counsel to the firm. Daley has presided over a resurgence in tourism, the modernization of the Chicago Transit Authority, the mayoral takeover of the Chicago Public Schools, the construction of Millennium Park, increased environmental efforts and the rapid development of the city's North Side, as well as the near South and West sides. Daley graduated from De La Salle Institute and obtained his bachelor's degree from Providence College in 1964 and his Juris Doctor from DePaul University.
Michael Alter is the President of The Alter Group, a national corporate real estate development firm. Mr. Alter previously was a practicing attorney with Mayer Brown & Platt, and clerk to William J. Bauer, former Chief Judge of the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Mr. Alter is the Principal Owner of the Chicago Sky, the WNBA franchise in Chicago. He was a sponsor of the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid committee. Mr. Alter graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Government and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Chicago.
Ryan Baker serves as CBS 2 Chicago?s lead sports anchor on the 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM weekday newscasts. Baker joined CBS 2 from WMAQ-TV in Chicago where he had worked as an anchor and reporter since 2003. He served as the host of the Chicago Bears pre- and post-game shows and as host of the Bruce Weber Coach's Show on the Big Ten Network. Baker is active with the Chicago chapter of the American Diabetes Association and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1991.
Howard B. Bernick is President of Bernick Advisory Limited, a private investment advisory company based in Chicago. Previously, he served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director at the Alberto-Culver Company. Mr. Bernick is a member of the World Presidents' Organization, Chief Executives Organization, The Economic Club of Chicago, The Commercial Club of Chicago, among other organizations. Mr. Bernick was born in Canada and graduated from the University of Toronto in 1973.
Mr. Bonner joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) as president and chief executive officer in 1999, and has served as a member of the CTCA Board since 1996. Prior to CTCA, he served as executive vice president of Keyport Life Insurance Company where he led the development of a new annuity market. Mr. Bonner has extensive experience serving as the director for various boards and was named by Modern Healthcare as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare.” Mr. Bonner earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Amherst College and a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law.
Dr. Dowlat is a Professor of Surgery at Rush University Medical Center and has been on the medical staff of Rush since 1987. Previously, he was on the surgical faculty of the University of Chicago. In 1985 he introduced stereotactic needle biopsy into the United States from Sweden and later was commissioned by American College of Surgeons to give teaching courses to surgeons nationwide. He was also recipient of Brian Piccolo and Bears Care research grants. In 2007, the FDA approved the technique for treatment of benign breast tumors and in 2011, permission was granted for clinical trial of breast cancer. Dr. Dowlat is the inventor on eight related US issued patents and currently is developing a minimally invasive thermal technique for treatment of mammographically detected breast cancers. Dr. Dowlat received his MD from the University of London, his Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons in England and American College of Surgeons.
Chris Frederick currently serves as the Contributor for HLN's “Showbiz Tonight” and is the Host of “Brotha Fred's Neighborhood” on 103.5 KISS FM/WKSC-FM in Chicago, which is also heard nationwide on 8 affiliates in various day-parts. Previously, Mr. Frederick was the Co-Host of FOX News EDGE FOX Charlotte/WCCB-TV Charlotte, NC. He is a Graduate of Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in English.
Alan R. Greenfield is an associate in the Franchise and Distribution practice group, concentrating his practice on domestic and international business, licensing and franchising matters. Mr. Greenfield has repeatedly been recognized as a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers, an honor given to approximately 2.5 percent of the best up-and-coming attorneys in the state. Mr. Greenfield serves as outside general counsel to the Baton Rouge, Chicagoland Area, Northeast Ohio, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and South Florida Susan G. Komen for the Cure Affiliates. His pro bono activities have included advising nonprofit corporations on fundraising activities and drafting service contracts, waivers and other general corporate documents for nonprofit corporations.
Greg Harris was elected to the Illinois General Assembly in 2006 and serves as State Representative for the 13th District which includes parts of Uptown, Ravenswood, Lincoln Square, North Center and Bowmanville. Harris, who is openly living with HIV, is the highest ranking openly gay elected official in the State of Illinois. He is Chairman of the Human Services Committee, and serves on the Insurance (Vice Chairman), Health Care Licenses, Health Care Availability and Access, Public Safety Appropriations (Vice Chairman) and Aging Committees. Harris is a member of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR), and the joint Legislative Health Insurance Exchange Committee.
Paul Lambert is the Market Executive responsible for the Mid-America Market, headquartered in Chicago, IL. Prior to his current role, Paul was the Regional Managing Director responsible for the Mid-America Private Banking and Investment Group. He also has served as Director of the Merrill Lynch New York Capital Complex based in Albany, N.Y. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science/Finance from SUNY Geneseo as well as the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation conferred by the Investment Management Consultants Association.
Michael Racenstein, M.D., FACR is the current Medical Director of the Women's Imaging Center at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He has served in this capacity since 2008 and, in January 2011, became the Chairman of the Department of Radiology at ABMC. He is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Society of Breast Imaging, the American Roentgen Ray Society and the Radiological Society of North America. Racenstein graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois with a B.S. in Medicine and received his M.D. degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.
Juan Rangel is the Chief Executive Officer for the United Neighborhood Organization (UNO), metropolitan Chicago's largest Hispanic community-based organization. Among his accomplishments as CEO, Mr. Rangel developed the UNO Charter School Network (UCSN) comprised of 11 public charter schools across Chicago. This recent expansion makes UNO the single largest charter school operator and managementcompany in Illinois. Prior to joining UNO in 1992 he was the Training Coordinator for Illinois Fiesta Educativa, a training and advocacy organization for disabled Latinos. Mr. Rangel has a Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern Illinois University.
Larry Wert is the President and General Manager of NBC 5/WMAQ-TV, the NBC-owned station in Chicago, the nation's third largest media market. Wert is also the President of the Central and Western Region of NBC Owned Television Stations, where he is charged with overseeing four additional NBC-owned stations, including KNBC-TV in Los Angeles, KNTV-TV in San Francisco, KNSD-TV in San Diego and KXAS-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth. Under Wert's tenure, the Illinois Broadcasters Association recognized NBC5 with the 2011 Station of the Year Award. Wert holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
