Bio: Genesis Rios is the Community Engagement Manager at Susan G. Komen Chicago in charge of the affiliate’s education and health disparities initiatives. She is a strong advocate for early cancer detection because it offers the best chance of survival and she believes no life should be
lost due to cancer. She received her Master of Public Health and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degrees at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Description: Susan will be discussing many aspects of Depression, from detection and symptoms, to causes, to types of treatment, coping techniques, prevention, and distinguishing between organic and reactive depression.
Guest Speaker: Susan Buss, LCSW

Bio: Over 35 years of experience in Social Work, Susan has worn many hats, from Social Worker in community agencies, to Psychotherapist and President of her company, Big Sky Consulting, Inc. She has Taught at the University level and now facilitates workshops for NASW and other organizations on Hoarding, Dating and working With Transgender individuals. She provides Reiki and Hypnotherapy and is an LGBTQIA advocate. Susan’s mission is to expand what’s possible for individuals, families, the community and the world.

She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Dietetics from Michigan State University and a Master’s of Science degree and dietetic internship in Clinical Nutrition from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. Kim is with FEED Nutrition Consulting.
