**New Date for MBCC 2020**

IMPORTANT UPDATE: After careful consideration, Komen Chicago has decided to reschedule the 3rd Annual Metastatic Breast Cancer Conference to August 21, 2020 due to the current coronavirus/COVID-19 developments and emerging outbreaks.   According to the CDC, people who are older (particularly over 70) and people with underlying health conditions, such as chronic lung disease, diabetes, and cancer appear to be at higher risk for major complications from COVID-19.  We apologize for the inconvenience, however, protecting the health and safety of the attendees, speakers, volunteers and staff are priority. Please continue to check this page for the most up to date information.

Join us at the Third Annual Susan G. Komen Chicago Metastatic Breast Cancer Conference and Resource Fair on August 21, 2020 for the most current information on treatments, research trials, patient support and national issues for metastatic/stage IV breast cancer (MBC)
This conference is free to attend, but attendees will need to register.

Last year, our conference was held at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab
in downtown Chicago

Conference Overview

The Annual Metastatic Conference has been thoughtfully planned by a small committee of women living with metastatic breast cancer. The Planning Committee designed the agenda to provide conference participants with an opportunity to:

(1) Learn about scientific breakthroughs and emerging treatment options
(2) Discover different ways to improve quality of life on a daily basis
(3) Gain support and build community

The conference is geared towards people living with metastatic breast cancer but is open to breast cancer patients of all stages.

Over the course of two days, presenters will cover the biology of metastatic breast cancer, advances in treatment, emerging research, clinical trials, as well as address the psychological and social issues faced by those living with MBC and caregivers.

Shannon Evoy Collins Memorial Travel Scholarship

We will again be offering travel scholarships to people traveling more than 50 miles to attend the conference.  Click here for information on applying for one of our travel scholarships!

Who was Shannon? Shannon was a member of our MBC Conference planning committee. In 2018, for her 30th birthday, in lieu of gifts, Shannon and her husband asked for monetary donations to help offset the costs of travel and lodging for people to attend our annual conference. Thanks to the $9,000 donated in her name, 11 people from around the country were able to attend. Sadly, Shannon passed away from metastatic breast cancer in June 2019 at the age of 30. We have decided to continue her efforts and carry on the scholarship in her name.
